Asked by Ramage13 {103} http://www.00cupcake.blogger.com 3/14/2010 4:50:14 PM My stepson is very helpful and I although we feed his piggy regularly, I feel like we should be giving him some kind an allowance that he can spend when we to the store or wherever. He has saved me a lot of trouble bending over and all that jazz since I am pregnant, the question is, how much allowance should I give a two year old? |

To help your child better understand money and learn how to earn it, I would try this: Buy a special container with a wide opening. Purchase some tickets with money increments on them like you would get at a carnival or fair. The increments do not have to be large: I would say no more than 25 cents. Every time your child helps you, picks up after themselves etc. give them one or two tickets depending on the job they perform and have them place it into the container. At the end of each week empty the container and have your child help you count the tickets inside. The amount of money from the tickets is the amount your child has earned. This is activity is multifunctional, not only will your child be learning how to earn money he/she will also be learning how to count. |
