3/16/2010 8:32:07 PM My 12 year old daughter is suspected of having ADD. She has not done any regular homework assingments since the first of the year but her tests grades are great, mostly A's and B's. I have tried rewards and grounding but nothing seems to work. Any ideas would be great! |

Give her a lot of breaks. Have her complete a task and give her a break. Do this until she is finished. You may adventually be able to have her do two things before she takes a break. Work your way up. Just have patience. |

Thank you so much!! I tried that with her tonight and she actually got some work done!! - JBest 3/17/2010 10:22:19 PM | FlagYES! This is great. Being one myself, it is extremely hard to focus for very long. Allow her to take a small break and you will see results. Forcing is not always the best policy. She shouldn't be able to use this as an excuse, but you can't force her to concentrate when she can't. - ErinS 4/1/2010 9:39:49 AM | Flag |

Try also letting her choose the order that she does her homework in. When she has spent a week doing her work regularly, then take her out for a movie or pizza. Reward her for trying to do her best. |
