Co-Sleeping and Benefits for Children

There appears to be mixed reviews on the pros and cons of co-sleeping, especially as it relates to toddlers and older children  Are there significant benefits of co-sleeping for older children (e.g., children over age 3) who share a bed at night with their parents?

I think both you and your child will sleep better alone. My opinion is it should be avoided under normal circumstances. If they get too used to it, it will be hard to break them of the habit.

I am not an advocate of co-sleeping. I think children need to know that they have their own bed from the beginning. But my question is this...how does this affect your intimate relationship with your partner if your children are in bed with you? this cannot be healthy.
