Asked by Kensmelangelo {152} http://holyninjaprogrammer.blogspot.com 4/2/2010 3:44:26 PM Both of my children have been bullied this year. The worst case came when a boy larger than my daughter slapped her in the face on the bus. The boy was sent home for one day only to come back and accuse her of lying about it. Many kids on the bus saw this happen and the bus driver saw the red mark on my daughter's face. I feel that I should attend some school board meetings or something like that, but isn't that just full of politics? I'm pulling my kids out of school next year, but I do feel very sorry for all of the kids who will be bullied regardless. Is there anything I can do to "force" the school to start taking action against bullies? |

Do not let this incident go. Talk to the school right away about it. These days schools are taking a lot of action for bullies. The parents of that boy must know about this incident. Just raise your voice in school. I am sure you will get many supporters. |

I think you should take it up with the principal. If he doesn't want to do anything have in hand stories of bullies. I'm sure you have heard of the story of the girl in Massachussetts. Her bullies bullied her during school and then after once they got home through the internet. The poor girl found her way out...suicide. Bullying should not be tolerated. I understand your children may be younger but at any age it should not be tolerated. |

The LAW is on your side, whether the principal and district understand that yet or not. For the SAKE of other children, don't just pull your kids out -- I can guarantee you that right now, with a lot of emphasis in the main stream media about bullying, if you call your local paper and tell them you are going to be speaking up at the next school board meeting, you will be HEARD. One thing to do RIGHT NOW is DOCUMENT what happened. Don't depend on your memory. In a court, and in the eyes of the law, hand-written documentation carries a LOT of weight. Don't worry about putting it perfectly, just get the facts down. It's illegal for teachers or school administrators to knowingly let bullying occur, MOST ESPECIALLY when it is physical. |

| Jackie Hassan Not really it is a VERY sad state of affairs going on the the schools now. My daughter was bullyed in kidergarten by a third grader who grabbed her by the hair and smacked her head into the swinset reulting in her two front teeth being knocked out. The school wasnt sure which child did it even though therre were plenty of kids who saw the whole thing so no punishment was in place. HORRIBLE I moved my kids to a different school and had an inccident with a janitor bringing my son into the linen Thursday, April 26, 2012 | ||

| Shay Torres i hate this. last week my son (whos 12) came home upset and crying because come to find out 2 boys pushed him while he was getting a drink of water out the water fountain and they pushed him into the concrete wall and he hit the floor. the broke his glasses and had cut up his face. theire solution (it was on camera so they dont know who did it even though my son pointed it out), the school paid for his replacement glasses, but those kids? i feel they got a slap on the wrist and a time out. both Thursday, April 26, 2012 | ||
