Housework and toddlers

Help!  I have two toddlers running around under my feet, and my house is a mess!  The two biggest problem areas are dishes and laundry.  I have a dishwasher, but it is currently taped up and not being used because my two year old won't stay out of it.  I can't keep all the laundry done because the three men in my house (hubby included!) don't pick up after themselves!  And to top it off, I usually can't look forward to naptime because my boys gave up their afternoon naps a month or so ago.  So when do all you supermommies out there do your housework, and how do you strategize so that you can do it with kids underfoot?  Right now I'm doing it all when they go to bed at night, but I'm getting tired of staying up till midnight and getting back up at 5 a.m.  Help!

I usually set the kids here up at the table for craft time right after lunch. So I get lunch time and craft time to do pick up. The rest gets done after bed time. I also have a child that naps so I get nap time too.

Try to get the kids to help you by encouraging them to pick up after themselves.  I've found making a game of picking up toys a fun way to get them involved.

I know ALOT of people will not agree with me and that`s ok but the way I get my house work done ( I have 2 small boys too) is extra tall baby gates. I let them have 1 room to just do what they please ( within reason) . For me its my living room. When they wake up they go in there and I do my chores. When I`m done with all the other rooms I go in my living room and let them help me clean. When everything is finished, they are aloud to roam the house as they please. But they both know no messes o

I have a 2 year old. He likes to entertain himself so while he plays I clean and if he comes to see what I`m doing I get him involved , I pass him wet laundry to put in the dryer , if I`m dusting I give him a dust cloth so he dusts too, etc..etc.. The only thing I do while he is napping is iron clothes.

Maybe ask the hubby / daddy if he could watch the kids Spend a few minutes with them while you need to throw a load of clothes in to wash, switch from washer to dryer. As for folding. Take your basket into the living room and have your toddlers help mommy clean house. When the folding is done, take the folded clothes into the room your are going into when you go to that room.... Passing by where you keep towels - throw them in as you pass by, you and your hubby`s clothes - have them help mo
