When Is A Toddler Ready To Sleep Potty Train?

My daughter will be three in a couple months and has been day time potty trained for several months now. She only has an accident maybe once a week or so, but she still naps and sleeps at night with a diaper. There's no way she's ready to wake during her sleep and her diaper is almost always wet upon waking from both naps and morning time. I'm wondering when is the appropriate time to start sleep potty training?

Let her do it at her own pace.  It is actually normal for a child to wet the bed for quite some time after day time potty training.  It really just depends on your child.  If you don't want to do diapers anymore, do training pants.  However, if you push the night time issue, you may prolong it, I think I did that with my oldest.
Good advice. I don't want to push her and I'm certainly not in the mood to be getting up in the middle of the night to change and wash sheets! She's not even three yet, so I'm just researching. Thanks!    -    textmom 4/12/2010 1:16:33 AM | Flag

I have a 5 year old who I`m still trying to sleep potty train. He`s made super progress in the past 6 months (no more pull ups!) but still has accidents about once a week.

if she is waking up dry then i say go for it. if she has accidents maybe set an alarm for her at night to wake her and remind her to go pee.. my oldest was easy he got it fast.. but my youngest is 2.5 years, and we are just getting through day training. good luck,
