Two ideas: one, try cutting them in fun shapes, providing dip, etc. Once he tries them, you can cut back on the dip. Two: Tell him these are very special vegetables and they are only for mommy (or daddy, or whatever). Kids always want what they can't have! |

I love the shapes idea. What shapes should I try and any suggestions on how to cut them? - oklahomapoet 4/11/2010 12:58:09 AM | Flag |

You can sneak vegetables into your son's meals by purchasing a food processor and processing vegetables such as cauliflower, broccoli and squash into your son's favorite meals. Make mashed potatoes with half potatoes, half cauliflower. Does your son like macaroni and cheese? Try putting some chicken and broccoli in with it (preferably chopped small in case it's the texture that he dislikes). Try vegetables such as spaghetti squash which he can not only help you make but eat because it doesn't appear to be a vegetable at all. Sneak vegetables into his snacks instead of forcing them into his diet at dinner. Edamame can be purchased frozen in the pods and are a great source of protein. Chances are, your son will be intrigued by the idea of popping those little beans into his mouth since it's more like playtime than dinner. |

| Janelle Sauceda Ha! I have offered veggies to both of my kids, EVERY meal since they were old enough to eat table foods! My oldest refuses to even have them put on his plate and my youngest will still only eat them pureed. Mott`s makes an awesome fruit/veggie juice that is low in sugar but has 2 servings of fruit and veggies in an 8 oz serving! I give my oldest a whole 8 oz cup with his afternoon snack and my little one 4 oz mixed w/ 4 oz of water. They LOVE it!!! I love that I don`t have to force broccoli down Sunday, September 11, 2011 | ||
| Shay Torres my kids learned early on to eat veggies. when i had to care for my niece, she hated veggies. i had her help me pick a veggie (carrots) she hated then tell me how could i make it taste yummy. she asked if i can put caramel (her fav) so we made caramelize carrots. she loved them! so the next time we tried other veggies like corn with a salted butter, broccoli with peppermint shaving lol now all my babies eat their veggies without any issues, they welcome their food Sunday, September 11, 2011 | ||

| Noemi Kline Dont force it, let `em pick ones that they like, and introduce slowly, mix it in with things when you cook be creative or juice them.... Your taste buds change with age. Just cuz kids dont like something now doesnt mean that they still wont like it as they get older. Sunday, September 11, 2011 | ||
