Asked by cameciob {299} http://hubpages.com/profile/cameciob 4/11/2010 12:52:13 AM I have several friends that have high school age children. They tell me all kind of scary stories about drugs, alcohol, parties and sex. I don't know what's safe anymore. Is these happens in all schools? Are the public schools more exposed? Do i need to isolate my kid from her colleagues? |

In my opinion, low self esteem is the most dangerous thing. A child with high self esteem won't be pressured to try drugs, have sex for attention, or drink to fit in. |

I have the same fear for my own daughter who will be attending high school in the fall. Parental supervision and keeping open lines of communication is what I am hoping will get me through the process. Good values and morals have always been important in our home, so I am hoping she takes the knowledge in which she has learned and utilizes it. |
