Travel potties easy to use/travel with?

I've read about some moms who use travel potties so their children are potty trained sooner. Are these easy to travel with/convenient to use? Or should I just continue using diapers while we're out until he gets it?

Hmmm. That's a good question. When we went panties, we went panties. I knew every restroom in town. One idea is to keep a training potty in your car. Line it with a plastic grocery bag with a couple of paper towels at the bottom. That way, you always have a bathroom available plus you can pull out the bag, tie it and toss it. One last thing: during the time, potty training seems to take a long time, cause a lot of stress, etc., but it really happens pretty quickly!

Always!! My Daughter was trained so fast. It seemed to be the big toilets at rest stops that scared her so we got a travel potty and kept it in the car. She was good about telling me, and I would just find a place and pull over, had her away from the traffic and it worked wonders. I highly recommend it.

I keep a folding potty in the car for emergencies now, but I put the kids in diapers if we were going to be out for awhile when they were first training. I love our Potette Plus -- you can use any plastic bag and dispose. It fits under the seat. We just pull over to a safe area. It was a life saver when we were stuck in a traffice jam while we were travelling!

I have a potty seat that folds and fits into a diaper bag. It sits on top of a regular potty so that they can use the regular toilet just like at home. I think it is too confusing to change from diapers to no diapers.

I have a Safety First potty in my car. It`s not a folding/travel potty specifically, but it works. I especially like it for a few reasons. 1. you can line the bowl with a trash bag and it can be done under the seat so the plastic doesn`t bother the little tushie on the seat. 2. There`s plenty of spaces inside the potty, under the rim to a roll of trash bags, hand sanitizer, wipies and a roll of toilet paper. I still have it in the back of my SUV although I haven`t used it in quite a while
