4/12/2010 1:42:53 PM My son is only three but he is pretty well potty trained during the day. When is a good time to try to get him trained at night? Should I start now since he does everything in the potty during the day? Do I wait until he's a little older? How do I know he's even ready for that step? |

I don't start nighttime potty training until my kids are waking up dry on a regular basis. We're just about there with my daughter who is nearly three. Once there is a regular pattern where the child wakes dry from overnight and naps for more than a week, then I start the nighttime training. That shows me that physically the child is ready to tackle it. Good luck! |

I agree. Waking up dry is a huge accomplishment! It helps encourage them. - yingling 4/13/2010 6:44:09 PM | Flag |

| Tamee Griffin you will know when his pull-up/diaper stays dry at night Tuesday, May 24, 2011 | ||
| Jennifer McLendon Yeah my little boy was 2 1/2 when we potty trained and he was good even at night. We used pull ups but he started staying dry so I quit spending the money. He rarely gets up at night to go to the bathroom (he`s 5 now). We put a night light in there just in case. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 | ||
| Lilliann Gross when we potty trained, we never put pull ups on, I didnt want to confuse my boys, we only had 2 accidents each:) GOOD LUCK!! Tuesday, May 24, 2011 | ||
| Jill Elwell I read that you should wake your child up to go to the bathroom before you go to bed, to prevent any accidents. No pull up or diaper at night. But..i guess different things work for different people. Doesn`t hurt to try it though :) Tuesday, May 24, 2011 | ||
