I think really after 15 months is to old to be on the bottle.  I took my first off at 9 months old, I went out and introduced her to sippy cups with a nipple, then we went to regular cups, my second I took off at about 11 months, and they were fine.  If you wait to long it gets harder to take them off of it.

Depending on how old your child is, you can keep their milk in the bottle and give them juice and other drinks in a sippy cup. Then take it from their.

I started weaning my son off the bottle at 11 months.  He was completely transitioned to a sippy cup by 13 months.  I think kids should be off the bottle by at least 18 months.

I personally think that after a year is too long but it is up to the parent. I have an 8 month old who sometimes drinks from a soft top sippy cup. But I know a mother who allows her 3 year old to drink from a bottle at night.

Doctors recommend to start weaning around age 1.

I started weaning at 1, and by 15 months she was completely off. Now the pacifier...that`s a different story! She`s 18 months and refuses to give it up!

i switch at 11/12 months. No weaning. Just a simple switch. Not all kids do well w this approach, but mine did..all 3.

At 1 is good. As soon as all 4 of mine turned 1, all their bottles were gone.

I`ve always been told that by 1 they should be off the bottle. I started weaning both of my children at 10 months by only giving them a bottle at bed time and soft sippys throughout the day. By 1 they were both off the bottle. You needed to be consistent because little ones are smart and know how to pull at our heartstrings.
