4/18/2010 10:06:17 PM My daughter who is 3 just recently started using the potty maybe a week ago. She randomly came up to me and told me she had to go and just did it. The only problem is I want her to keep going to the potty but I dont want to push her and have her regress. She goes to the potty about once a day, and sometimes she goes in the bathroom and it seems like she just plays around. We made a sticker chart to encourage her to go and maybe be more excited about it. What are some good ways to get her to keep going but not pushing her? |

Try to keep track of when she actually goes when she is on the potty and try to develop a routine around those times. You can also talk to her about keeping herself clean and dry and when she does have an accident, point out to her that it doesn't feel good. With the sticker chart, set a number of stickers to get a reward that she really, really likes and keep the goal realistic. At that age, kids don't understand the concept of time and waiting too long to reward their efforts will cause frustation. |

| Daphne Price sorry ladies but my personal opinion is that if ur child is 3 they should be potty trained. you should push it should not be an option at this point. like i said my personal opinion..i am a mother of 4 and grandmother of 4 and one on the way. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 | ||
| Rebekah Foringer put her in big girl pants it maybe messy at 1st, but it works!!! They HATE the wet undies & pants feeling takes 24-48 hrs... use it w/my son & plan on doing so w/my daughter! Wednesday, December 15, 2010 | ||
| Tiffany Marco Lopez I agree with Rebekah. You will have a mess to clean up but they will get used to using the potty then Wednesday, December 15, 2010 | ||
| Karen Wachenheim if you don`t want to be that drastic, I would just try and have her go potty like every hour. This way you just tell her to try so they get used to going more often. Don`t get upset when they have a few accidents either as they are still learning with it. Maybe offer a little reward when they do go on their own. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 | ||
