4/19/2010 2:04:13 PM I received an offer from a diaper website to receive $10 off my first purchase. This sounds tempting for a couple of reasons: 1. I can find brands and types not available at my local stores and 2. If I run out in the middle of the week, I won't have to wait until Friday when I can get to the store, or find someone to drive me. I am just wondering which is more cost-effective, and better considering my circumstances. |

Looks like, for you, the answer is to stock up on diapers, doesn't matter the source. But for a comparison, I would check the prices at the stores and find out the price per diaper (by dividing the price of a pack by the number of diapers on that pack) . Do the same thing with the online ones but add the cost of shipping, if any and other applicable taxes and divide the total by the numbers of diapers. This way you can find the price per diaper. Then add the commodity to have them shipped (be sure to find out how long it will take to come to your house. Besides, keep in mind that sometime the weather is bad or the truck had a flat and there may be a delay) vs to go to the store. Over time, even a penny per diaper can make a difference. |

I have tried looking at prices online for diapers. I honestly can't find anywhere that it would be cost effective for me to purchase them online. It is just cheaper to buy in bulk at the store from my research. |

The $10 off is great for the first purchase, but after that, then you usally need to spend $50 or more to get free shipping. You find yourself buying something you don't really need to get the free shipping. I've found that the prices usually aren't more than a $1 different, so for me, where ever is the most convenient is the best choice for me. I buy my diapers at Babies R Us because if you sign up for their frequent shopper card you get coupons in the mail (not for diapers or formula tho) and once you buy 9 boxes, you get the 10th free. |

I think online is better that is where I bought my cloth diapers from. There are a few websites that offer discounts and coupons like you said. I like babies r us or walmart. I think you can never go wrong with buying anything at walmart. But it is still a good idea to shop around and look at the cost in the store. sometimes you may get a great deal online but one the shipping cost is factored in it comes out to be more. |

I think it all depends. Some places that only operate online have special sales just as regular stores. I go back and forth to see how is having the best sales for the diapers I like to purchase. I like to look for coupons online before I make any purchase as well. Alot of websites offer free shipping as well. |

| Nichole Currey Depends on how much they charge you to ship them and how much more of a mark up they are. I buy mine at Costco or Sams Club so we always have at least a month worth. Wednesday, December 08, 2010 | ||

| Amy Buteau I have found through careful math...Target brand diapers in sizes 2 - 4 are better priced than online or Sam`s Club. I`ve got to watch all the pennies as well :) Wednesday, December 08, 2010 | ||
