Asked by cameciob {299} http://hubpages.com/profile/cameciob 4/19/2010 4:15:41 PM I have a friend that would like to go back to her full time job. She already has a nanny to take care of her baby. She is also breastfeeding and being as she put it "over productive" she got a pump too. Her only concern is that being at work she won't get to breastfeed her baby, besides other complications that come with this. I wish I could encourage her to pump at work but she is afraid of her boss and colleague reactions. On the summer time, part of her work is outside and she will need to drive back to the office. She must take a decision soon. Any advice? |

How many and how long will depend on the individual company. She should ask about company policy. They do have to let her do it. If she decides she doesn't want to pump at work, eventually she will stop producing milk during the times she is normally at work. |

It does depend on the company, they should have some rules concerning it. If she will be driving back and forth to the office she could probably just pump in the parking lot. She could pump in the back so no one can see her if she is uncomfortable. Or during her lunch breaks. Maybe she could make some sort of arrangement with her boss so that she can pump in an empty room. I am sure they will work something out to make her comfortable. |

| Kronisity Saenz read the work handbook most jobs are suppose to allow you to go pump in a private room 1 10-15 min break for every 2 hours you work if u work past 6hrs u get a 30min lunch break well in cali that is. Do Not be scared at all this is for your baby and babys health and there is nothing wrong with having to pump at work Saturday, December 04, 2010 | ||
| Christina Smoorenburg Depends on the state and the job...teaching for instance you are given 25 minutes of nonstudent lunch time, but planning periods can be used for anything adminustration says, leaving only your 25 min lunch for pumping(my current issue). Saturday, December 04, 2010 | ||
