a 9yr old's dreams of the sun way too close to earth!!! What to do with this...

The dreams are very specific.  Its wierd because his exsistance is peaceful and has not been informed very well of our earth's condition.  Also to be considered that his dreams are far from this dramatic on a regular basis.  That is why this concerns me.  Out of nowhere the dreams show severe devistation that as he discribes it to me is unaware of exactly what he is describing.  Im just concerned how to go about saying "oh its just a dream and its far from anything real"  it isnt is it?  Oh im just a simple at home mother of two.  Im catholic so this is why i have a hard time discussing this stuff with anyone.. Any advise?

I would explian that some dreams can simply not be explained. Possibly even explain a funny dream that you may have expirenced in the past, that makes no sense at all. Tell him that it's just his mind imagining things, sometimes it can be realistic, and other times it may not.
thank you.    -    geomoni 4/26/2010 6:40:41 PM | Flag
I agree with Dani. The important thing is to let him know that it's normal and not something to be worried about. By the way, how is he been doing since you last posted?    -    abbamom123 5/15/2010 10:51:25 PM | Flag

i have the same dream. i am a 21 year old male from oklahoma. i also have a catholic back ground. i found this looking for an answer. every night i dream of disaster and pestilence. more like a post apocolyptic world that has been brought to shambles. there are rising waters from the ocean and the above mentioned sun, also there have been some where im facing destruction of the entire world and all i do in the dream is drop to my knees and start praying that god forgive me of my sins and beg for mercy. i have these dreams every night of my life. i havent not had a nightmare since i can remember. its either i dont dream at all or i have the most horrible dreams that anyone could imagine. i have seen my daughter, fiance, uncle, grandmother and many other people die in front of me because of these dreams. i would greatly appreciate anyone who could help me understand this on a sub concious level.

maybe show him the distance of the sun from earth, get nice images from the internet. let him know you understand that he is afraid, but i think having a visual will help.. good luck.. my son is four and he had a terrible dream that woke him up at 5 am and he couldnt go back to sleep. it was about his friends head popping off, and he couldnt save her. that night we went to her house, and he saw that she was okay.
