There are several preschools in our area. How do you know which one to choose, for the best welfare and education of your child?

I'd say, do your homework and research and go with your gut.  A bright and shiny new preschool may look attractive on the outside, but if you have an uncomfortable vibe from the staff... obviously, this is a huge red flag.  On the other hand, some internet research could unearth some unsavory information about a school that you had a good vibe about as well.

So in a nutshell: investigate and inuit.

I believe that you should look at the staff at the preschool, but you should also observe the clientele.  It is very important for your kids to be around positive teachers and students.  Your kids will pick up bad behaviors (or good) from what they see around them.

So definetly do your research!

I remember taking a day off to do school tours. Finally, I enrolled my daughter into this School(Brighter Beginnings). I had these things in my mind and this SCHOOL has all of it:-Qualified Caring teachers-Clean and safe environment-emphasis on early education and art & craft-learning thru play and small projects-closer to my house(on my way to work)

research, friend reviews, meet the schools principal and grade teacher that your child might have. Thats what we did . Also use your child as a radar for weather he/she likes the school.. they are a good indicator when it comes to people. If my children do not like someone, such a sitter, then thats the end.. my children need to feel comfortable and safe. Thus giving me a peace of mind as well.

My sister chose Montessori for both her kids. They take the free, open, curiosity learning style which is the only kind really appropriate for that age group anyhow and tends to be approached by more intelligent-minded type teachers as well. Both her kids make straight As & Bs now and seem to really love elementary school.

As a former Daycare teacher I can say it is very important to make sure and check that the daycare you are looking provides you child with a safe and loving environment! Also make sure that the program provides structured teaching because it is important even at young ages to learn and develop little minds. Make sure they follow the proper Health codes as well. My rule of thumb as a teacher was to love each child as if they were my own, I ha alot of kids who loved me as well as i them and th
