Hello to all moms!

I have a son who has never had a dry night since he was born.  He is now approaching a time when he interested in having friends sleep over.  With summer coming, I would like to help him overcome bedwetting.  I would love to hear your success stories.  THANKS!

My daughter is four and just recently quit wetting the bed at night.  I don't really think there is a quick-fix for that.  I just stopped making it such a big deal.  If she wet the pull-up I would just clean her up and move on with it.  Once there was no pressure on her, she slowly had more and more successful nights.  She still has accidents.  Just not as many.  I really think it is all on the childs timing.

True, timing is everything. I think it's a maturity thing as well as common sense like limiting the amount of liquid before bedtime.    -    abbamom123 5/19/2010 8:56:41 PM | Flag
A lot of times bedwetting is cause from too much fluid, or sleeping to hard, however there are sometimes herbs lacking in a child's body, you might iodine drops, you can get them the health food store, or online.Hope that helps    -    lighthousemt 5/31/2010 9:48:17 PM | Flag

He's nine.  We stop any drinks after 6 pm.  I have hesitated to wake him up at night.  Because its hard for him to get back to sleep.  I also don't want to put him on medication.

Sometimes, removing milk and cheese from their food list will help with this.  I also have seen chiropractic care help.

I am interested too in this.  My son is eight and we face the same situation.  Doctor seems unconcerned and therefore no tests or anything has been done to see if it is something physical. He is a very sound sleeper that even the wetting alarms next to his ear has not woken him.  I hate to limit the amount that he drinks because while at school all day he gets very little.  I dont want to  dehydrate him.  My son does not seem to be concerned with it and is comfortable with wearing pull-ups.  I am stuck.

I use a essential oil (CPTG) called cyprus! Works wonders and it is 100% natural!

contact your doctor, this is a actual condition that occurs to a lot of kids all the way up to 13 years of age, they have medications they can prescribe and therapies.

I make sure my boys don`t get anything to drink after dinner so nothing after 6:30. My 6yr old doesn`t wet and my 3yr old rarely but when he does its usually because he`s snuck water. When my little sister used to wet after age 3 mom took her in to be seen and her bladder was smaller than her body needed so it took diapers (no pull-ups at that time)for a few months then she stopped wetting again.

I agree with Tara... I don`t believe in giving my kids medication they don`t need or taking them to the doctor if they are not sick. Right down to my recently potty trained almost two year old, no one gets ANYTHING to drink after 6:30. My oldest had a problem with bed wetting, he is just a really hard sleeper, so we decided to try this and we haven`t had a problem with any of our other kids since!

Post doesn`t give a specific age, but I`m going to guess 8 or 9 since he`s interested in having friends sleep over. The hasn`t had a dry night since he was born part does concern me that there could possibly be an issue. We stopped liquids past a certain time too, but eventually my daughter just seemed to mature into dry nights. Something I haven`t seen mentioned is to make sure it isn`t too dark. My daughter used to wet because she was too scared to get up and leave her room.

Not giving them anything to drink past a certain time of night works! my thought on the issue is this...If your kids are bed wetters don`t make such a big deal out of it, sometimes kids have undeveloped bladders and their bladders just need time to catch up. it is something that they will grow out of as the get older. My son is in 3rd grade and he has been wearing the Pull-up boxer training pants for a long time now, he has been staying dry for a while now, he sometimes has accidents but, I d
