6/17/2010 6:34:59 AM In school they taught my child to write, obviously, but his handwritting is so sloppy and messy that I'm wondering if anything is wrong. It's not laziness either. He really tries. Any suggestions? |

Maybe you could review how to write the letters so he can practice his handwriting that way. You could also try to have contests to see which one of you can write the neatest. If you are really worried, bring in a copy of his writing to the doctor at his next visit. The doctor will refer you to a specialist if there's a problem. On the other hand, maybe it really isn't a big deal and that's just the way he writes. You never know, maybe he's practicing to be a doctor. You can never read their writing! |

| Dessylyn Arnold It could be th sign of a learning disorder. Also, I had a friend in 8th grade who could not transcribe her own notes. One day I asked her to change hands to write. It turned out she was a lefty.<3 Saturday, August 07, 2010 | ||

| Carrie Vinall-Foster As a HS teacher I can tell you many boys do have bad handwriting and that it is not a big deal. Teens spend most of their time writing through tech. and handwriting takes a back seat. The only solution though is practice. Focus on print writing and repeat, repeat, repeat.
