3/1/2010 6:28:36 PM I have had three children and breast fed all three. I am anticpating having another baby within the next few years and was wondering what other mothers have done to eliminate the pain sometimes experience during breastfeeding? |

i used warm compresses and lamosil cream for the nipples and i tried to keep them not so full i found the fuller they got the more painful they were. |

I second the warm compresses, and add that I have also taken the advice of my mom. I haven't seen it in the newer books, but preparing your nipples before childbirth helped a lot, as well as nursing on demand. |

I agree with all the others. Compresses work great. Also lanolin to help soothe your nipples and make sure to change the pads regularly, so you dont have that sticking problem. Also when they get full in between feedings I would pump out the milk and store it. So I always had milk for on the go when I needed it. |

I agree. My doctor told me to expose my nipples to 20 minutes of direct sunlight daily for the first week. - MomUv5 3/4/2010 8:21:18 PM | Flagi agree too but i actually used a bag of frozen peas as an alternate to the warm compresses too...it helped numb me when i need it - danismom 3/10/2010 6:49:24 PM | FlagAh! Yes, I remeber the packages of frozen goods. Not to mention the frequent hot showers of just standing there, and the quick dip in the sink full of hot water, cause I didn't have the time to do anyhthing else. LOL. - Tiffinyd 3/13/2010 9:17:17 PM | Flag |
