![]() | Sure....at least I've experienced it. I think it's for the same reason that the kid who refuses to eat anything but peanut butter sandwichs for a month suddenly decides he hates peanut butter - because he can and he's discovering that he's a separate identity and can choose to do or not to things. In other words - he's learning to exert his independence. Has your daughter had any bad experiences on the potty lately? Sometimes it's as simple as being scared. Perhaps she or someone else flushed the toilet and the noise frightened her or she is afraid that somehow she, too, will disappear along with the swirling water. One of my kids simply hated to take the time to use the potty. He simply couldn't be bothered with interrupting his play. |

We started training our 17-month-old and he used the potty several times. All of the sudden he hated using the potty and would start screaming and reach for me to pick him up. The past couple days he asked to use the potty again. I think toddlers just have a mind of their own already and they SURE let us know what they want. Don't be discouraged, your daughter will get back on track when she's ready. |
